Overview
The POS Layouts section lets you design the button layout that appears on POS terminals. Layouts are organised into groups; each group can contain multiple layouts. From the list page you can see the group name, locations, number of assigned POS terminals and an edit action【564244446327883†screenshot】. Creating new groups or layouts is restricted in the demonstration environment, but existing layouts can be inspected and edited.
Who Can Use This
Users with POS configuration rights can edit layouts. In the demo system, only Resico support can create new groups and manage assignments.
Preconditions
- You must have Retail setup rights and access to POS layout editing.
Navigation
Select Retail Setup → POS Layouts to open the list of layout groups. To edit a specific layout, click its Edit button.
Step‑by‑Step Process
- Open the POS Layouts list. Each row displays the group name, the locations and POS terminals assigned to that group, and an Edit button【564244446327883†screenshot】.
- Click Edit to open the layout editor. The editor shows the selected layout name and a grid representing the POS screen. You can drag and drop buttons on the grid to position them, or click Add button to insert a new button【769970063667317†screenshot】.
- On the right side of the editor, update the Layout name (mandatory), select a Background color, and set whether this layout is the default layout for the group【769970063667317†screenshot】.
- Use the buttons at the bottom to Save your changes, Add new layout to the group, Copy layout from an existing one, or Delete the current layout【769970063667317†screenshot】.
- When finished, click Return to list to go back to the layout groups.
Required Fields
- Layout name: each layout must have a unique name within its group【769970063667317†screenshot】.
- Background color: defines the colour theme for the layout; optional but recommended.
Validation Rules
- Layout names must be unique within a group.
- Each POS layout must be assigned to at least one POS group before it becomes available on terminals.
Common Errors
- Cannot create new group or layout: in the demo environment the Create new group button is disabled because layout groups are managed by Resico support【564244446327883†screenshot】.
- Buttons not appearing on POS: ensure the edited layout is set as Default layout and assigned to the correct POS group.
Troubleshooting
- If changes are not reflected on the POS, verify that the layout was saved and the correct POS group and terminal are selected.
- Contact Resico support if you need to create or delete layout groups.
