Purpose
Use the Points page to configure the customer loyalty points program for the client. This page controls whether the points system is enabled, how customers earn points from purchases, how points convert into monetary value, and whether unused points expire automatically.

Preconditions
- You need permission to edit Client profile.
- The company should define its loyalty points policy before configuring this page.
- The client currency must already be configured in the system.

Step-by-step procedure
- Open Client profile → Points.
- Enable the feature by activating Enable points.
- Configure how customers earn points using Membership ratio.
- This field defines how much money must be spent to earn one loyalty point.
- Example: If the value is 1 EUR, every 1 EUR spent generates 1 point.
- Configure how points convert back into money using Membership points rate.
- This defines how many points equal one currency unit.
- Example: If the value is 100, then 100 points equal 1 EUR.
- Review the warning message shown on the page regarding points configuration changes.
- If the client wants points to expire automatically, enable Enable points delete.
- Select the expiration period in Points delete term.
- The available values are between 1 and 6 months.
- Points older than the selected period will be automatically removed.
- Click Save to apply the configuration.
- Click Cancel to leave the page without saving changes.
Required fields
- Enable points – must be enabled to activate the points program.
- Membership ratio – defines the spending amount required to earn one point.
- Membership points rate – defines the conversion between points and currency.

- Enable points delete
- Points delete term
Validation rules
- Membership ratio must be numeric.
- Membership points rate must be numeric.
- Points delete term must be selected from the available list (1–6 months).
- The currency shown next to Membership ratio uses the client currency, or EUR if none is configured.
Exceptions
- The page may be editable only by administrative or support users in some environments.
- If the points program is disabled, the configuration fields remain inactive.
- Changing points ratios may affect existing customer points balances.
Common errors
- Incorrect membership ratio causing customers to earn too many or too few points.
- Wrong points rate resulting in incorrect conversion between points and money.
- Enabling automatic expiration without communicating the policy to customers.
- Changing points settings after customers have already accumulated points.
Troubleshooting
- If customers earn incorrect points, review the membership ratio.
- If point redemption value is incorrect, verify the membership points rate.
- If points disappear unexpectedly, confirm whether points delete is enabled and check the expiration period.
- After configuration changes, test the points calculation with a sample sales transaction.
Questions / Gaps
- The page limits expiration to 1–6 months. Confirm whether this range can be changed in system configuration.
- Verify whether points balances are recalculated when loyalty parameters are modified.
- Confirm whether point deletion runs automatically through scheduled background processing.
